The Gaggle is a member golfing tradition since 1979 at Fair Oaks Ranch Golf & Country Club.  The Gaggle’s goal is to provide golfers of all skill levels an opportunity to meet other club members while improving their skills in competitive but friendly tournaments.  All male golf members and guests are invited to participate!

The Gaggle is run by a committee of volunteers.  There are four individuals who direct tournaments (Randy Hurwitz, Alex Dean, Paul Sparkman and Don Wilson).  The Director running the tournament for a given week sends out the Gaggle announcement by e-mail, early Monday morning. 

The entry deadline each week is 6:00 PM Wednesday.  And if you sign up, but are unable to play, PLEASE NOTIFY THE DIRECTOR ASAP so he can adjust the pairings and other tournament documents.  

We play handicapped team events every week.  Usually three or four-man teams, but sometimes two-man teams.  We alternate between flighted and A/B/C/D team composition.  We also add Individual Quota events periodically (in addition to the team format).  We use the Golf Genius software application to build teams and generate results reports.

Gaggle check-in is from 11:30 AM to 12:00 noon on Thursday in the men’s locker room; we have a shotgun start at 12:30.  The entry fee is $20 cash.  The Gaggle assistants would appreciate it if you can check in on time, so they have an opportunity to warm up.  Prize payouts and beverages are after each Gaggle event (on the patio during club renovation).  

There is an optional Hole-In-One Club.  Entry fee is $5; there is usually around $210 in the HIO kitty.  In months that have five Thursdays, we have complementary food & beer after golf on 5th Thursday (courtesy of the Fair Oaks Ranch Golf Shop and the Gaggle).
